A Summer of Prayer, Simplicity, and the Spirit
In the 3rd and 4th centuries, Jesus’ followers sought deeper communion with God in desert solitude, forming Spirit-led communities characterized by simplicity, wisdom, prayer, and shared life. Known as the Desert Mothers and Fathers, they rejected the empire to forge a new way of being.
This summer, Beloved Community offers an invitation to this same wisdom within the spiritual hunger, injustice, and disconnection of our modern inner cities. We are creating space for stillness and soulful connection with God, each other, and our neighborhood, seeking a pilgrimage into wisdom, not a vacation from discipleship.
